Police say four people, including three New York residents, were arrested after an exchange of gunfire in the parking lot of the Augusta Wal-Mart Sunday night.

The suspects were sitting in two vehicles when the shots were fired, Augusta police Sgt. Christian Behr said in a news release.

After the shooting, one suspect exited one of the cars and confronted the suspects in the other car. Police say the altercation was then interrupted by two armed civilians.

Behr said the people in the vehicles knew each other and the incident was drug-related. No injuries were reported.

Arrested in the incident were:

  • Kwiesha “Reggie” McBride of Harlem, NY was charged with reckless conduct with a firearm and aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs (heroin). Her bail was set at $50,000.
  • Frankie Dejesus of Rochester, NY was charged with reckless conduct with a firearm. Dejesus' bail was set at $25,000.
  • Diana Davis of Rochester, NY was charged with aggravated assault. Bail for Davis was set at $5,000.
  • Samantha Tupper of Augusta, ME was charged with violating probation and furnishing schedule W drugs. She's being held without bail.

In a post on the Augusta Police Department's Facebook page Sunday night, police said a woman who was involved in the incident fled the scene. Officers from the Augusta Police Department, the Maine State Police and the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office searched for the woman, but she was not found.
