A former Greenville man was found guilty Friday of voluntary manslaughter in the death of a homeless man in Hollywood, California in January of last year.

Troy McVey, 23, is scheduled to be sentenced in April, according to a report on WABI. He could face 22 years in prison.

Another Greenville man, Colby Kronholm, was originally charged in the case along with McVey. The charges against Kronholm were dropped.

Police say McVey shot the victim, Richard Miller, 52, was shot several times. He died on the way to the hosptial, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Attorneys for McVey had argued that he was on drugs at the time of the killing and didn't know what he was doing.
