Female Driver Killed In Frankfort Crash

A female driver was killed when her SUV was rear-ended by a box truck on Route 1A in Frankfort Monday, police said.

Authorities confirmed the fatality to WABI, but the name of the driver was not released.

The driver of the box truck was taken to a local hospital. There's no word on the extent of his injuries.

The wreck for several hours completely shut down Route 1A between Route 69 in Winterport and Loggin Road in Frankfort.

The accident remains under investigation.
