Father Says His Daughter’s Allergy Caused Him To Kill 2 Cats

A Greene man says he killed two cats that were staying in his home because his daughter is allergic to them.

WABI-TV reports 47-year-old Michael Herrmann used his bare hands to kill the animals. The cats belonged to a family friend who was staying at the home in Greene. Police say he told the animal control officer that he killed the cats because of his daughter's allergy.

Hermann is charged with Felony Aggravated Cruelty to Animals. He turned himself in to authorities on Monday.
