A father and son from Etna have been arrested in connection with a robbery at the Penobscot County Federal Credit Union in Enfield last March.

Detectives from the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division arrested Edward Cooney, 56, and his son, Christopher Cooney, 30, the sheriff's office said in a news release on Wednesday.

The father and son were charged with robbery and are being held at the Penobscot County Jail.

Police say Christopher Cooney was also charged with violating his probation.

During the course of the investigation, police seized a vehicle that was involved in the robbery, which occurred on March 28, the release said.
