You know what's cool? One billion users.

OK, now that that's out of the way, lets discuss the big Facebook news, which is that the social network  recently topped one billion users. This amounts to about 15% of the world's population.

Mark Zuckerberg announced the achievement as a status update on his Facebook page, and thanked users for  "making Facebook a better place."

Facebook's stock has fallen 43% since its much ballyhooed IPO and advertisers have questioned whether Facebook is giving them enough bang for their buck. For these reasons, there have been rumblings that Zuckerberg, Facebook's 28-year-old CEO, is no longer the right person to be running the company he started in his college dorm room.

But now Zuckerberg at least has this big billion user milestone to hang on his critics.

That's just a huge number. When one thinks about how many baby photos and unsolicited political opinions a billion users can create it really boggles the mind.
