Last week, the Bangor Police Department's Facebook page "Got Warrants" feature mentioned that a little girl's red wagon was stolen from her porch.

That's when the power of social media took over.

Not long after that post, a father and daughter from southern Maine stopped by the department to donate $50 toward its replacement. Two Bangor officers went to Walmart and decided to pitch in some of their own money to upgrade the wagon for the girl.

Instead, Walmart donated the red wagon. The officers then presented the wagon (along with a $50 gift card from the donated money) to Makayla, 4, and her mother, Samantha.
