Gracie Theatre Announces Final Show of Season

BANGOR, ME - The Gracie Theatre at Husson University welcomes Grammy winner singer/songwriter Paula Cole in concert Friday, April 24. The concert will feature Paula Cole’s well-known hits along with numbers from her latest release “Raven.”

Paula Cole, Grammy winner and 7-time Grammy nominee, performs her trademark emotionally deep and thrilling concert on Friday, April 24, 2015. Poetic and fiercely touching, and writing which reveals her unique take on life and lives makes Cole stand apart. The evening will include songs from her new album, Raven., released this spring.
“I Don’t Want to Wait, “is one of Paula Cole’s most famous hits written for her Grandfather.

“That song is incredibly beautiful and speaks of the precious time we have with one another.” says Jeri Misler, managing director for the Gracie Theatre. “The song became the theme song for the TV show Dawson’s Creek so I know there will be people who sing along with Paula when she performs it.”

Cole won a Grammy for her song, “Where Have All the Cowboys Gone” She is a 7 time Grammy nominee and has released six solo albums spanning a 20- year career. She has sold approximately three million albums and has performed with icons in many genres of music from Peter Gabriel to Dolly Parton and many more. Cole’s emotionally deep and thrilling performances are a trademark Her compositions have been covered by Herbie Hancock, Annie Lennox, Katherine McPhee to name a few.
A native of Massachusetts, Paula Cole was raised in a musical family with whom she and her daughter remain close. Cole is a scholarship alumna from Berklee College of Music with a background in jazz, received her first record deal with a jazz label (which she declined), and has collaborated with many jazz artists. Paula teaches and gives clinics in a spirit of giving back to the circle of music. With a loving allegiance to her fans, she maintains loyal communication online and after her live shows. As the first woman in history to solely produce and receive the best Producer Grammy nomination for her work, “This Fire”, Cole has broken boundaries with a searcher’s spirit. From her top ten hits of the 1990’s to her more recent critically acclaimed albums, Paula Cole continues to write, produce, record and perform heartfelt, meaningful, lasting music that defies categorization.
