He can’t go home\, take a shower or do anything else until he collects 2\,012 turkeys for Manna Ministries\, which will feed families in need throughout the area this Thanksgiving.    If you'd rather\, you also can donate with cash ($10 equals one turkey toward our goal)\, a check or go the more traditional route and pick up a frozen bird while grocery shopping and bring it to Kid. He'll take it from there by storing it in a big\, freezer truck on site until they're ready to go to Manna.    Last year\, we collected a record 3\,000 turkeys\, so Kid has his work cut out for him in 2012.    One other thing you can do is help us get the word out! The event has its own Facebook page to help spread the word. We'll also be posting updates there and on our website\, so help us Free the Z!    Thanks!

The UMA-Bangor Relay for Life Team will be holding a Charity Zumba Party Event for the American Cancer Society on April 26th from 7-9pm at the UMA-Bangor Fitness Facility in Bangor. 100% of the proceeds will aid UMA-Bangor’s Relay Team: Moose on the Loose in their fund raising goals this year for the Penobscot Relay Event in May.  “Relay For Life is a life-changing event that helps communities across the globe celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer\, remember loved ones lost\, and fight back against the disease(www.relayforlife.org/.)” Each year\, the Penobscot Relay for Life Event brings in monies from a variety of organizations and teams to aid in the research to end cancer. This year the Relay for Life event is on May 17th and 18th at the University of Maine Orono campus.  The University of Maine at Augusta – Bangor Campus has one such team: Moose on the Loose. They are striving to meet the Bronze Level fundraising goals once again this year. Comprised of students and employees\, this team has been working on unique ideas that get them one step closer to the Bronze Level and one step closer to aiding the world find a cure for cancer. The BAZIP (Bangor Area Zumba Instructors/Participants) Party is one such idea that has turned into a large event. On Friday\, April 26th Maine Zumba Instructors will be getting together with participants from their class and the general public to raise money. From 7-9pm\, instructors will take turns teaching for participants in a party setting. Lots of raffles\, prizes\, snacks\, refreshments\, lights\, and music will mark a night full of fun\, laughter\, and giving! Last year\, 150 participants came out to this event and filled the facility! The Reclaim the Stage group wants to take down the wall\, get a curtain (no one knows what happened to the old one) get some lights (we have had 18 donated by the Collins Center!) update the electrical and USE it\, for whatever people in Orono want to use it for. The more $ we get\, the more we will be able to make it better for performances\, specifically acoustically.  Please pitch in! The first phase will be in the range of $25\,000 to get the basics pulled together. (A curtain is EXPENSIVE) But this is a pretty doable project\, and it can be something A LOT of people can enjoy. DESCRIPTION:Bring out your ride and cruise for Camp CaPella!    Camp CaPella is a summer camp on Phillips Lake in Dedham for kids and adults with physical and developmental disabilities.    Our Classic Drive to benefit the camp will cruise between Maine Oxy on Robertson Blvd.\, in Brewer and NAPA Auto Parts on Route 1 in Ellsworth. It will be 26 miles of proudly waving the Camp CaPella flag.    We'll line up at 8:30 a.m. on Robertson Blvd.\, and depart at 9 a.m.    We'll arrive at NAPA in Ellsworth at about 10 a.m. and that's when we'll get ready to party! We'll line up for the Charity Car Show sponsored by Maine Oxy and hand out awards in a bunch of different categories once we arrive at NAPA!    There also will be music by the RetroRockerZ\, a big cook out and a big sale at NAPA!    You can preregister your ride below!
