A man who was the subject of a police manhunt after an alleged shooting Sunday night is now in custody.

Ellsworth Police say Aaron Wagner was arrested at around 3:30 Tuesday morning near the Deane Street apartments, where he lived. Police had been on watch there through the night, in case he tried to return home.

Wagner has been sought by police since an incident Sunday night during which he shot out the back window of an SUV at the apartment complex. The two men inside the vehicle were not hurt. Wagner took off on foot and police weren't able to catch up to him until early this morning.

Police were concerned about Wagner's well-being, as well as the safety of the community because they said he suffers from mental health issues and may not have been taking his medication. The 41-year-old is charged with Reckless Conduct With a Firearm and Aggravated Criminal Mischief.
