Police are investigating the deaths of an elderly couple from Machiasport.

Donald Dill, 84, and his wife, Mary Dill, 90, were found dead in their home on East Side Road Monday morning, the Bangor Daily News reports.

Police say the couple's bodies were discovered when their son entered the home at about 9:35 a.m.

The deaths were the result of an accident inside the home, and it appears that foul play was not a factor, the Washington County Sheriff's Office said in a news release on Tuesday.

“The medical examiner’s office will be conducting an autopsy to help determine manner and cause of death,” Chief Deputy Michael Crabtree said in the release. “No further information will be released until the medical examiner’s office completes [its] investigation.”
