A new pocket-sized slip of blotting paper can detect Ebola strains in just 30 minutes. Using just a drop of saliva or blood, the test identifies specific disease or infection outside of the laboratory. 

It's not available to the general public yet. But the recent creation of the Ebola test took just 12 hours for scientists at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering to formulate. However, these scientists say that the tests cannot yet be used to identify Ebola in areas where there is an epidemic.
