It was another successful walk to benefit the Alzheimer's Association!

Last Saturday at Bass Park in Bangor tons of people from far a wide gathered for the 2014 Eastern Maine Walk to End Alzheimer's. How many people? Over 866! Walkers (not the zombie kind) collected over $119,000 for the Alzheimer's Association!

According the Alzheimer's Association one out of eight Americans over the age of 65 suffer from Alzheimer’s disease. Half of those over 85 are affected by the disease. Last year, 15.5 million caregivers provided an estimated 17.7 billion hours of unpaid care, valued at more than $220 billion!

An Estimated 25,000 Mainers are affected by Alzheimer’s disease. To learn more visit alz.org.
