Maine Drug Enforcement agents seized over $24,000 in drugs while executing a search on Wednesday. Three people, including two from New York, are facing charges.

Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland said in a press release that MDEA agents and Auburn Police searched an apartment at 24 Laurel Avenue in Auburn. Both agencies had received numerous complaints from neighbors about increased foot traffic and the suspicion that drugs were being sold at the residence.

A search of the apartment turned up a large cache of drugs indicative of a large scale drug trafficking operation. Items seized included 230 grams of pre-packaged and bulk crack cocaine, 8 grams of heroin, a gun, and electronic scales. McCausland says the street value of the drugs is over $24,000.
