No one was hurt when a personal boat caught fire off the coast of Saco, but the vessel was a total loss.

The Maine Marine Patrol responded to a report of a boat on fire, just after 7:30 this morning, near Wood Island. Officers Adam Madore and Tyler Sirois reached the boat at 7:50 and found the owner, Timothy Lenz of Westport Island, on-board another boat. He had evacuated to the skiff  after his 31 foot motor boat caught fire and was picked up by a nearby boater.

The vessel was fully engulfed when Marine Patrol officers arrived and the fire was eventually extinguished by local Fire Department personnel. Lenz was not hurt in the fire, but the boat sank.
