Ah yes, the red band trailer. When you absolutely, positively have to hear all the F-bombs a film can offer, the red band trailer is for you. And the latest preview for Don’t Breathe sure does love those F-bombs, but at least it’s found a somewhat clever way to incorporate them. if nothing else, the new trailer for the latest film from Evil Dead remake director Fede Alvarez is determined to let you know that things are about to get “really f—ed up.”

That line is uttered by Dylan Minnette, playing one of three sorta-protagonists who decide to rob a blind shut-in, stupidly mistaking him for an easy mark. Their plan quickly backfires as the man, played by the inherently intimidating Stephen Lang, proves to be a formidable and dangerous target who’s not about to let these damn kids rip him off.

This is where I tell you that the red band trailer might be a bit spoiler-y, but that’s really only the case if you’ve seen the film (as I have) — out of context, these scenes don’t amount to much aside from teasing some “really f—ed up” moments. That said, the trailer does borrow one shot in particular from a big third-act reveal that would be better left unseen until you’re sitting in the theater.

Here’s the official synopsis for the new thriller:

Rocky (Jane Levy), Alex (Dylan Minnette) and Money (Daniel Zovatto) are three Detroit thieves who get their kicks by breaking into the houses of wealthy people. Money gets word about a blind veteran (Stephen Lang) who won a major cash settlement following the death of his only child. Figuring he’s an easy target, the trio invades the man’s secluded home in an abandoned neighborhood. Finding themselves trapped inside, the young intruders must fight for their lives after making a shocking discovery about their supposedly helpless victim.

Don’t Breathe also stars Jane Levy (Evil Dead) and Daniel Zovatto, and hits theaters on August 26.
