The man who survived being lost on a mountain in Maine as a boy is coming to Bangor this weekend!

Lost on A Mountain in Maine has essentially become required reading here in Maine. At age 12 in 1939, Donn Fendler spent nine days lost on Mt Katahdin. That was 75 years ago. His famous book has become the subject of a documentary and a fiction film.

You'll be witness to his story first hand Saturday at the Cole Land Transportation Museum. His book signing begins at 11AM, followed by a talk about his experience at 1PM.

The event is free. For more info, call 990-3600.
