If you were up early Tuesday morning and live in the Bangor area, odds are you heard a large roar in the skies.

While Bangor International Airport officials wouldn't give us specifics, they did confirm the noise was from a group of fighter jets (joined by some refueling planes) that were leaving the airport and heading back to their home base this morning starting at about 6 a.m.

One of our loyal listeners snapped a photo of one of the jets, which you can see above. It's an Israeli F-16 fighter jet.

That was some wake-up call! It kind of reminds us when the world's largest airplane landed in Bangor last year. You can watch that video below. Don't worry. It's not that loud.
