Fire investigators say last weekend's fire in Boothbay that left two men dead was caused by a child playing with matches.

The couch in the living room caught fire, and the blaze quickly spread throughout the two-story house, The State Fire Marshall's Office said Friday.

Investigators said no charges are expected, because the fire was started by a young child, who will be referred to counseling.

Baldomero Zamora, 50, and Lucas Farias, 23, both of Chicago, were killed in the fire Saturday morning on Pleasant Cove Road. Four others were hurt.

Investigators said the home had three working smoke detectors.
