Listen to Daft Punk’s Japanese Bonus Cut ‘Horizon’
Daft Punk‘s ‘Random Access Memories’ was one of the most touted music releases of 2013, but it seem as though those craft Frenchman were holding out on us — at least their fans that didn’t live in Japan. Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo included a bonus track on their Japanese release titled ‘Horizon.’
The track is an acoustic-driven instrumental that seems a far cry from many of their disco-laden beats on the rest of the album. ‘Horizon’ almost borders on a new age-type of composition.
There’s no word as to why Daft Punk released this particular track only in Japan, but it does show that ‘Random Access Memories’ could have taken a wholly different direction than it did. We love the dreamy element to ‘Horizon,’ but we’re very happy ‘Random Access Memories’ took the form it did. Just goes to show, Daft Punk knows what the people want!
‘Random Access Memories’ is also fixing to be one of the best-selling albums in music history around the world. According to NME, the album is set to break Oasis’ record for the fastest-selling LP in U.K. history. Good things come to those who wait!
