THQ may be going through a major league financial rough patch right now, but developer Crytek believes they will help turn things around for the beleaguered publisher.

In an interview with Rock, Paper, Shotgun, Crytek's CEO Cevat Yerli discussed his company's partnership with THQ, and how strong the relationship between the two has been since joining forces. "Our support and collaboration with THQ has been really strong," Yerli said. "But obviously, it’s an unsettling experience at times when you read this news [about trouble at THQ]. I mean, we’ve constantly had a great relationship and communication with THQ’s top management."

As for the prospects of THQ turning its financial situation around, Yerli said he believed things would work out. He also thought Crytek, as well as fellow studio Volition, would be a big part of THQ's return. "We know how our relationship is, but we don’t know what’s happening to fix THQ’s financial problems," said Yerli. "That’s THQ’s prerogative. But we have hopes that THQ is going to turn around, and Homefront 2 is a very big part of that turnaround. I would say it’s probably the most important project, actually. I would say it’s the IP that’s most relevant along with Saints Row. Those two are pretty much THQ’s flagship."

Both Homefront 2 and the next Saints Row sequel are anticipated titles, but it will take a lot more than two titles to get THQ back on the right track. What do you think of Yerli's statements?
