Beloved ‘Glee’ star Cory Monteith — who played the role of Finn Hudson — was found dead in Vancouver, Canada on Saturday (July 13). Just two days before he died, he reportedly spent a "a quiet night with a lot of laughing" with his former acting teacher Maureen Webb.

According to Webb, the charming 31-year-old actor seemed both happy and healthy, which makes his sudden death all the more shocking.

"He looked so good, so healthy," she told PEOPLE. "I hadn't seen him look that good in a long time."

The pair dined at Vancouver’s East of Main Cafe on Thursday (July 11) along with Monteith’s manager, Elena Kirschner. “We ate a lot of food," said Webb. "We drank the rhubarb lemonade." She was also sure to note that none of them drank alcohol.

The dinner meeting was Monteith’s idea, sparked by his desire to get more involved in Project Limelight Society, a Vancouver-based non-profit arts program for children. Webb co-founded the charity, and Monteith had been supporting it since it first launched back in 2011.

"I told him, 'I remember everything we talked about when we first talked about this project. Now it's happening,'” Webb recalled. “His face just lit up. He was in great spirits."

Monteith's body was discovered in his hotel room on Saturday. The cause of death is still unknown, but an autopsy is scheduled to take place today. His girlfriend, Lea Michele, is understandably devastated and has not yet issued a statement on his passing.
