Thank you for taking the time to read the story about Ila, my very sweet mother-in-law, I know you are all very busy so I will try to keep this short.
My husband and I are finally having our wedding this summer, I would love to have Ila attend and have the chance to see her grandchildren again. However, traveling is very difficult for her. Many years ago Ila was in a vey bad car accident. She defied the odds and survived. She amazed the doctors and even continues to live on her own. Despite all Ila's hard work and long road to recovery she was still left disabled in many ways. Suffering from vertigo, memory loss, and illness that is strongly affected by weather and stressful situations. Due to damage to her inner ear she can not handle sever changes in air pressure (why weather affects her), therefore she can not just hop a plane to visit us on the other coast.
A trip from Oregon to Maine will be a long and complicated one. We have had to carefully plan a train route to bring her down and around the mountains and across the flatest parts of America then back up to Maine. We also need to hire her a travel companion. She can not travel alone.
So our goal includes train fare for two, meals, and hotel stays for where there are a few layovers.
Please help us allow Ila to be a part of our wedding and to see her grandchildren again. I can't describe how much it would mean to all of us.
Thank You!
