Probably the most fun, entertaining event I attended last summer was 'Color Bangor,' a 5K run/walk that's punctuated by the throwing of brightly colored cornstarch on participants. I was at Color Station Yellow and had the best time! If you want to take part in this year's event, get signed up now!

I wish I had a dollar for every time last year that I heard, "If I'd known it was THAT much fun, I would have gone!" Well, now you know. It's THAT much fun! An opportunity to just go crazy, be silly, and get covered in bright colors. If I did have all those dollars, I'd donate them to the American Folk Festival, which puts on the event.

The 2nd Annual 'Color Bangor' will be held on Sunday, May 17th on the Bangor Waterfront. AFF Executive Director Heather McCarthy told me that there are some new things added to the event this year, that they will be announcing in the coming weeks. One feature that I took part in last year was the Celebrity Line-up, where I got to stand in one place and have tons of color (mostly purple as can be seen in the picture) dumped on me in a short span of time, just like in the video of another group getting coated!

Registration is now open for 'Color Bangor,' and the earlier you sign up, the more you'll save! You might also want to consider putting together a team of 8 or more, because you can get a reduced rate that way as well. As I said earlier, all the money raised supports the American Folk Festival that's held every year at the end of August on the Bangor Waterfront.

Don't be one of those people this year who say "If I'd realized....." Now you KNOW...it's a blast! Come join us! Just log onto the American Folk Festival's website and get signed up now!
