It's going to be a fantastic weather weekend for a classic Maine event this weekend!

It will be something for everyone that includes local beer, great food, a ton of music, a classic car show, historical education and lot's of fun things for the kids.  Throughout the festival, check out the Historical Walking Tour, Kid's Area attractions, and harbor tours.

The Bucksport Bay Festival is happening and here are a few of the highlights:

FRIDAY, July 19th

1 PM - 4 PM  The Festival Starts: The Bucksport Historical Society will be open to learn about the stories of Bucksport and pick up a walking tour guide of Bucksport's Historical Homes.

3 PM  Vendors open/ Bucksport Bay Festival Pageant begins: Food trucks, crafters, organizations and information booths open up on the Waterfront.

4 PM / Bucksport Bay Festival Pageant begins with the theme 'Red, White & Blue' this year.

6 PM Pet Palooza: The Hancock County SPCA and Bucksport Animal Shelter will be celebrating four legged friends at this free event/ fundraiser.

SATURDAY, July 20th

8 AM Pancake Breakfast: Start the day with a delicious breakfast at the Bucksport Marina parking lot.

9 AM Start Touring Maine Maritime Academy's Tug Pentagoet: Maine Maritime Academy's teaching vessel will be docked at the Waterfront for tours.

9:30 AM Happy Birthday Col. Jonathan Buck Bayfest Parade, Franklin Street, Mill Street, Main Street.

10 AM  Kid's Center Opens: $7 to bounce on inflatables and play with oversized games, behind town hall.

NOON Brews by the Bay: Sample local brews including beer and Cider at the Bucksport Post Office

2 PM Dinghy Races: A truly Maine event where the winner wins a cash prize and festival swag.

3:30 PM River cruise: Take a tour of the harbor on the Yankee.

9:15 PM Fireworks: Watch the light show happening over the Penobscot

SUNDAY July 21st

11 AM Vendors Open and Kid's Center Opens

11 AM 20th Maine Militia: Civil War Encampment at Ft. Knox that will include cannon firing.

11:30 AM Live Music on the Town Dock Stage with Allison Ames Band

1:30 PM River Duck Dash: Rubber duck racing.
