If 'Gone Girl' hadn't made it official already, Neil Patrick Harris remains every bit a star of the silver screen as on TV and stage. And so, the 2015 Oscars have followed suit in recruiting the acclaimed personality to host the Academy Awards on ABC this coming February.
The 2014 Emmys, which aired last night (Aug. 25), struck a somber note with Billy Crystal's touching speech that honored his good friend Robin Williams. As it turns out, Crystal wasn't the only star who wanted to pay tribute to Williams. Emmy-winner Kathy Bates admitted she wanted to dedicate her award to the late star.
In case you missed it, because you were muting the commercial breaks or what have you, Fox debuted a new 'Gone Girl' trailer during the 2014 Emmys, broadcast on NBC Monday night and showcasing never-before-seen footage of Ben Affleck in this twisted tale from director David Fincher and the original best-selling novel.
Looks like it was another one of those 'Modern Family'-centric years, right? ABC's hit took home the 2014 Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series, as it did in 2013, 2012, 2011 ... oh, and in 2010, too!
