Four men have been arrested in connection with a string of car burglaries. Police say vigilant neighbors who noticed someone sneaking around their cars lead to the arrests.

It was just before 11:30 pm on Monday when residents of Essex Street notified Bangor Police that they had noticed people attempting to burglarize their cars. While officers responded, one of the suspects was detained by residents and the other 3 were later caught and identified by Bangor PD.

As a result of the follow-up investigation, detectives and patrol officers executed a search warrant at 71 First Street, Apartment 6. Numerous items were suspected to be stolen and were seized by police. Numerous electronic devices were included in that material.

Police say the investigation is ongoing. There have been six individuals charged in connection with Bangor car burglaries since November 9th. Police are asking residents to be vigilant in watching for suspicious activity and to call the Bangor Police Department immediately if they observe anything.

Most car burglaries occur in unlocked vehicles, so everyone is reminded to lock the doors. And keep all valuables either out of car or locked in the trunk.
