School officials in Camden have made the difficult decision to cancel its football season, effective immediately.

Principal Nick Ithomitis told Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket that he met with the superintendent and athletic director yesterday to talk about the football program when the number of players able to practice this week dwindled to 11 because of injuries.

The decision was made to cancel their final five games. They will be recorded as forfeit wins for their opponents. The Windjammers had lost their first three games.

Ithomitis says the longer term future of the football program will still need to be determined.
