A Bucksport man and his wife's son are both facing charges after a fight that allegedly included the use of a bat and a firearm.

41-year-old James Utley told authorities he was trying to sleep last Tuesday night, but was bothered by too much noise from a party being held by his wife's son, Dylan. He said he walked out of his bedroom to ask the 19-year-old and his friends to quiet down because he had to work in the morning.

What happened next isn't clear, as police haven't released a sequence of events. But, at some point during the altercation, Utley allegedly hit Fisher in the head with a baseball bat. After the man had been separated, Fisher allegedly got a gun, that went off in the house.

Police say several people were endangered when the gun fired. That included Fisher's 6-day-old child, who was in the house at the time. Fisher's bail was set at $1,500 cash, while Utley's bail was $1,000 unsecured.
