Brewer Police have identified the man struck by a truck on South Main Street last night, and the driver of that truck. The pedestrian was on his way to services at St. Theresa's Catholic Church when he was injured.

Deputy Chief Jason Moffitt says Don Factor, 74 of Bangor was crossing the road in front of the church around 5:30 last night when he was struck by a tractor trailer. The truck was driven by 59-year-old Gregory Crossman of Holden, who was not injured.

"At this point the investigation is still active, but preliminary information indicates that drugs and alcohol don't appear to be a factor. And we do know the crash did not occur in a crosswalk."

Moffitt says the truck driver did attempt to stop when he saw the man. Factor is currently in critical condition.
