US Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont is running for President, and he's drawing full-house and even overflow crowds in cities all over the country. On Monday night, he came to Portland.

After more than 10,000 people came out to see Sanders in Madison, Wisconsin last week, thousands started to RSVP to see him speak in Portland. His campaign stop had to be moved from a smaller venue to the Cross Insurance Arena downtown to accommodate the expected number of  attendees.

Event organizers delayed the start of the town hall address to allow the hundreds of people still lining the streets at 7pm the ability to get inside and hear the Senator speak.

Sanders spoke for almost an hour on the economy, health care, social programs, and the middle class. You can watch his speech in full above.

Sanders is the first presidential candidate of the 2016 cycle to hold a campaign rally in Maine.
