Two men were arrested after the discovery of a meth lab in Belfast Monday, according to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Edward Mylen, 37, of Belfast, is charged with aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine and unlawful operation of a methamphetamine laboratory.

Michael Redding, 27, of Belfast, faces charges of trafficking in methamphetamine and unlawful operation of a methamphetamine laboratory.

The men were arrested by drug agents at Redding's High St. home Monday evening.

The men had been under investigation since December for manufacturing methamphetamine at the home, the release said.

Drug agents say a search of the home turned up about 2 grams of methamphetamine that the men had made.

Mylen and Redding were processed at the Waldo County Re-Entry Center and then transported to the Two Bridges Regional Jail. Bail was set at $5,000 each.

Mylen faces a charge of aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine because of a prior drug conviction.

This was the 17th time the MDEA has responded to a meth related incident this year.
