Labor Day marks the unofficial end of Summer. I'm assuming that most of your kiddos are back in school by now. It's time to put the laid back Summer mentality behind you and switch gears to school mode. September can bring lots of excitement for you and your children, but it also brings added stress. I'm certainly no expert on stress and ways to cope, but being a working Mom, I think I have a pretty good idea what works and what doesn't.

1. MOVE! Excerise is one of the best ways to cope with stress. This is very important for both you and your children. If you don't have time to hit the gym, take a walk around the block after dinner or toss a football around. Whatever activity you choose, I promise you that adding a little physical activity won't hurt!

2. SLEEP! Adjusting the bedtime routine can be a tricky one. I know all to well how hard it can be to fight the bedtime battle with your kids. It's a battle you must win though! Your little ones need about 10 hours of sleep a night! This goes for Mom and Dad as well. No late night TV, Mom! Turn off the tube and read a book to ease your mind. If you're getting your 8 hours you'll be much better off!

3. DON'T OVER DO IT! Both you and your children can quickly become overwhelmed with over committing! School plays, fall soccer, football, pta meetings, etc. Most of us are guilty of overloading the calendar. It's important to get your children involved in activities, but it's just as important to remember that the little ones need their downtime too.

That's it for now! If I missed something, feel free to share your tips!! Happy school year!!!!
