There are a few important things my kids have come to look forward to over the years. Two that rank high on their list are the Father/Daughter Valentine's Day Dance and the Mother/Son Dance. A chance to get all dolled up, and have a special night with Mom or Dad has been an important right of passage in our house. Sadly, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, last year was the first year in a very long time that Bangor Parks and Rec was not able to offer those special events.

While dances this year are still a logistical headache, due to gathering restrictions, the folks at the Bangor Parks and Rec wanted to make sure that there was something for families. So they got creative and put together a special event this year, in lieu of a dance, so that moms and dads could spend some quality time together, with their kids, outside of the house. The alternative to the dances: a fancy dress dinner instead!

Working with Seasons Restaurant, Bangor Parks and Rec will be presenting an "Under the Sea Dinner" Saturday February 27th.

The event will take place right at Season's Restaurant, and like the dances in the past, this event will be a nice excuse to shed those sweats and get dressed up.

According to the Bangor Parks and Recreation Website, there will multiple seating times offered that evening.

"If Mom or Dad can't make it, a grandfather, grandmother, an uncle and aunt or another special someone would make a wonderful date! What a great chance to have a special night after the craziness of the past year.  "

The dinner will be open to kids K-7th grade, and offer dinner, music, trivia and prizes with each seating. There will even be a photographer on hand to to capture that night's memories, and do portraits that will be for sale.

Seating will be limited, so to reserve your table and time slot, and for pricing, menu and Covid related safety information, you can click here.
