The latest winter storm is causing a lot of headaches for commuters as roads are coated in black ice. And Police are finding it challenging too, even when they're not in the car!

Police around the area are busy answering calls of accidents, setting up detours, and just generally trying to keeps folks safe this morning. Black ice is making driving treacherous and motorists are advised to take it very slow. In addition, you'll want to be prepared for anything, including detours caused by accidents. Leave earlier than usual and accept that you still may not make it to your destination on time.

In Scarborough, Route 22 between Saco and Spring Streets is expected to be closed for much of the morning while crews deal with an overturned fuel delivery truck. The scanner has been very busy this morning with reports of people sliding off the road and needing a wrecker to pull them back onto the pavement.

And in Bangor, an Officer was caught on camera doing some skating in his shoes! Be careful out there today, and be safe!

Safety tips with Tyler was supposed to be informative. Officer Rusby felt this was informative, and I suppose it is. It tells a story. A story of a boy from Aroostook County that might be 2 spuds shy of a barrel. Be careful. If you're out on the roads you already know. Leave space between you and the car in front of you. Avoid panic breaking and if you see Tyler. Tell him to come inside. The men and women of the Bangor Police Department will be here!
