Bangor Police Officer Given Surprise Gift From Appreciative Resident

A Bangor Police Officer got a big surprise when he responded to a shoplifting call two days before Christmas. While the incident was pretty routine, his return to his cruiser was not. That's where he found a young woman with a gift card and a note that will warm your heart.

Law Enforcement has been given a bad rap lately, with a lot of negative press. But we can't lose sight of the fact that these men and women put their lives on the line every single day to keep us safe. Imagine getting out of bed every day and not knowing what the day will bring or whether you'll be returning home that night.

A graduate student decided to show her appreciation on Tuesday by surprising a Bangor Police Officer with a cup of coffee. But more precious to him and others on the force was the message put into a note, letting all of them know how important they are to the community and how their job is valued.
