A Bangor man is going to prison for a car accident that killed his friend.

WABI-TV reports Keith Austin, age 23, pleaded guilty today to manslaughter and aggravated OUI. During the hearing, Austin apologized, and said he wakes up every morning wishing he could trade places with 20-year-old Nick Frenette, who died in the crash.

Austin was driving on the Annis Road in Hermon last June, when the car hit a tree and flipped over. Frenette died a day later. Police have said that Austin admitted to using alcohol and pot prior to the accident.
