Bangor High School boys basketball coach Ed Kohtala has resigned his post after three years as Rams coach.

Kohtala took over the Bangor program in 2012 from longtime coach Roger Reed. He had been a UMaine assistant coach.

Kohtala's Rams went 13-5 in his first year, 13-5 in year two and this past season the Rams were 6-12.

Bangor HS athletic director told "The Drive" Show on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket that Kohtala is stepping down for personal reasons and that the search for a new coach begins immediately.
