When Bangor fire fighters arrived on scene last night flames were showing from all of the windows of the three-story home on Patten Street in Bangor.

Assistant Fire Chief Anthony Riitano says the call came in around 10:30 from the home of Charlton Butler at 44 Patten Street.

"With the amount of fire we did an offensive attack and used lots of water to knock it down and spent a lot of time looking for hot spots in the building," stated Riitano.

No one was inside the home when fire fighters arrived because the homeowners were renovating the home and were staying in the back yard in a camper.

One fire fighter was transported to the hospital for an ankle injury but no other injuries were reported.

Assistant Chief Riitano says investigators with the state Fire Marshall's Office will be on scene today looking for a cause.

Riitano says the home is insured.
