Bangor Gets Early Screening, Nation’s Odd Celebrations for New Star Wars Movie

This Friday, the latest in the Star Wars saga, The Last Jedi, will be released and all of our inner nerds, and maybe outer nerds, are rejoicing.

In San Francisco there will be a a massive light saber battle, a part of a fundraising tour that Glow Battle Tour puts on nationwide.

They stopped in Boston last spring where light saber touting fans converged to display their unabashed geekiness, for a good cause.

Since March of 2005, they have been organizing free, fun, all-ages events like parties on subway cars, public pillow fights, giant games of capture the flag on city streets, massive bubble battles, public art installations and much more.

Lucky for us in around Bangor, the Bangor Mall Cinemas was chosen by Disney, among a small amount of other theaters nationwide, to offer an exclusive early screening of the film on Thursday.

Lucky ticket holders will be able to see the movie 1 full hour before anyone else in the country, as well as receiving popcorn and a gift from Disney Studios, with the event starting Thursday, December 14th at 6:00 PM.
