In the 12 years the Senior League World Series has been in Bangor, no host team ever won their first three games. That changed Wednesday when Bangor beat Virginia 7-3.Ben Crichton had two hits, an rbi and a run scored to help Bangor improve to 3-0 in the series. Nick Cowperthwaite added a two run single in the third inning when Bangor put four runs on the board to take a 5-1 lead.

Trevor Delaite got the win on the mound despite struggling with his command. Delaite went 4 innings allowing 5 hits and 2 runs. James Prescott followed with 2 solid innings of work before Dennis Farnham pitched a perfect 7th inning.

Bangor will now take on Hawaii in their final game of pool play Thursday at 5pm. A win puts them in the semi-finals as the top seed in their pool. A loss could require tiebreakers to be used to determine if they make the semi's. You can hear the game live on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket, 929theticket.com, or on the mobile app from Radio Pup.
