A Baldwin man was killed when his snowmobile left an unpaved road and struck a tree.

Warden Corporal John MacDonald says 56-year-old Bradley Flint died in a snowmobile crash on the Marston Road in Baldwin late Saturday night. The accident was reported just after 9:00 Sunday morning to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators learned that Flint had left his brother's house Saturday night at around 9:30 on his 2014 Polaris snowmobile. Bradley's brother searched for Flint when he failed to return, and located him the next morning. Flint was killed when his machine struck a tree adjacent to Marston road, which is not a maintained winter road. Wardens say he was not wearing a helmet and speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash.

This is Maine's third snowmobile crash this season. The first occurred in the town of St. George on January 24th, followed by a second crash on January 31st in New Sweden. All three fatal crashes this season have been single machine accidents with one operator. Two of the three victims were not wearing helmets.
