Bail was set today for a Bangor man in connection with the methamphetamine manufacturing operation in his Winter Street apartment.

According to the BDN, bail was set at $25,000 cash Monday for 48-year-old Jeff Miller. He was unable to make bail and so, at last report, was still incarcerated at the Penobscot County Jail.

Miller was arrested on Thursday after MDEA agents were called to 34 Winter Street, Apartment 3, in Bangor for a report of a suspected meth lab. Bangor Police alerted the Drug Enforcement Agency after trying to serve Miller with a warrant.

A search of Miller's home turned up 17 used 'one pot' vessels and 13 gas generators, along with the ingredients used to make meth. The BDN reports a confidential informant told police that Miller was cooking at least four times a day and was then selling it at night. He's accused of allegedly riding a bicycle to Pickering Square to sell the drugs.

He's charged with aggravated unlawful operation of a methamphetamine laboratory. The charge was elevated to a Class A crime because the lab was in a multi-unit apartment building.Miller is due in court again on January 12th. If convicted, he faces up to 30 years in prison.
