A 19-month-old child, who was critically injured when an ATV overturned in Southern Maine on Sunday, has died.

The accident happened before 6:00 Sunday evening on the Laskey Road in Windham. Corporal John MacDonald with the Maine Warden Service says the boy was injured when the ATV operated by his 32-year-old father rolled over backwards while climbing a hill on their property. The father had two other children, ages 6 and 4, also on the ATV when it crashed. The baby was between the man's legs and the two others were behind him on the vehicle. Game wardens believe helmets were not being worn by any of the riders.

The Maine Warden Service will be working closely with the Cumberland County District Attorney's Office to determine whether any charges should be filed. Windham Police and the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department assisted Game Wardens at the scene.
