Two Accidents Result in Fatalities

Two accidents last night on Maine roads have resulted in fatalities.

Police in Old town report a 54 year old woman was killed when she was struck from behind while walking on Poplar Street around 6:30 last night. Police say the driver of the SUV that struck the woman stopped immediately and tried to render assistance while calling police.

Managing Maine’s Black Bear Population [VIDEO]

They have been tracking and examining Maine's black bear population since 1975 in the longest running biological study in the United States.

Don't be mistaken though, this is not a desk job.

Wildlife biologists with the Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Department (IF&W) have tracked over 3,000 bears to determine their health and well being, and to learn more about the number of bears entering the population.

Incident in Trenton Ends With Man Hospitalized and Under Police Guard

The incident we reported earlier this morning in Trenton has resulted in a man being hospitalized and charged with aggravated assault.

The violence started to unfold early this morning when a woman was able to run for help after being stabbed.

Shooting in Old Town by State Trooper Justified

It was an intense scene that unfolded the night of October 9, 2013 in Old Town when a 28 year old man called 9-1-1 to report he had just stabbed his girlfriend in the chest and was going to take his own life.

Young children were involved in the domestic violence incident but unharmed, and when it was all said and done, a pregnant woman was found dead and her attacker was shot dead by police.
