Your Favorite Teenage Witch Is On Trial In ‘Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina’ #5 [Preview]
After one of the most promising debuts in a long time, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Robert Hack's spooky Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been missing from shelves since its fourth issue came out in July of last year, one of only two issues to be released in 2015. Now, though, we are finally on the verge of its return. On May 18, Sabrina comes back with its fifth issue, and it's picking up right where it left off with Sabrina on trial for exposing witchcraft to a mortal.
So really, if you've been waiting for the Archie comic that involves trial by red hot coals, multiple references to the Satanic Bible, and a Cthulhu monster being conjured up just to make a point about magical marriages, this is the one. Check out a preview!
Ask Chris #225: The Secret Origin Of Santa Claus
Q: Merry Ask Chris-tmas! What's the weirdest version of the Santa Claus origin story? -- @prograpslady
A: You know, it wasn't that long ago that I wrote about two different version of Santa's origin that were done as stop-motion TV specials from Rankin-Bass, and as much as I love them both, they're not exactly what you'd really expect. I mean, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town is essentially the story of a revolutionary who brings down a corrupt European government through illegal toymaking and is then hunted until he has to relocate to the North Pole, and The Life And Adventures of Santa Claus has him raised on the milk of a lioness and taught about Japanese samurai by a twelve foot tall druid who shot laser beams from a silver axe in a war against child-hating goblins.
I guess what I'm getting at here is that even for someone who's spent a lifetime getting used to origin stories with nonsense words like "bitten by a radioactive spider" and "inhaled hard water fumes," Santa's beginnings are pretty weird.
The Top Five Comic Book Horror Stories For A Spoooooky Halloween
If there's one thing we've learned from our years on the Internet, it's that there's no aspect of comics that can't be broken down and quantified in a single definitive list, preferably in amounts of five or ten. And since there's no more definitive authority than ComicsAlliance, we're taking it upon ourselves to compile lists of everything you could ever want to know about comics.
This week, we're finishing off Halloween Horror Month with a list of five great spooky stories -- mostly single issues! -- that you can read to get into a scary mood!

The First ‘Sailor Moon Crystal’ Trailer Lacks Toast But Is Otherwise Pretty Rad [Video]
I don't think that there's ever been a better time to be a fain of Sailor Moon. Not only is Viz releasing the classic 1992 animated series on Hulu -- uncut, with new subtitles and a new dub on the way -- but there's a new animated series set to debut next month, simulcast around the world as it airs in Japan. The show's called Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal, and now, there's a trailer for it.
Unfortunately, the trailer lacks what I would consider to be the single most iconic image of not just Sailor Moon, but the entirety of anime. While Usagi does in fact run out of her house late for school there is no toast in her mouth. Other than that, though, it's pretty fantastic.
Hugh Jackman Takes On Magneto On WWE Monday Night Raw [Video]
If you were wondering whether the existence of a Jem movie and an impeding Gallery Edition hardcover of The Dark Knight Returns were in fact evidence that I had gained mysterious, reality-warping powers that allow me to control the world as we know it, yes. Yes I have. I am master of reality now. I mean, how else can you explain the fact that last night, Magneto showed up to challenge Wolverine to
The ‘Jem’ Movie Has Cast Its Holograms, The Misfits Remain To Be Seen
EVERYONE SHUT UP THE JEM MOVIE HAS CAST THE HOLOGRAMS.
In the latest development from what is unquestionably the single most important news story of all time, the first round of casting has been announced for the upcoming Jem movie, and all four Holograms now have actresses assigned to their parts. Kimber, Shana and Aja will be played by Stefanie Scott, Aurora Perrineau and Hayley Kiyoko, respecti
The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library And Museum Opens Awesome ‘Calvin & Hobbes’ Exhibit: We Want To Go To There
Last Friday, the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum at Ohio State University opened an incredible pair of exhibits featuring the art of Calvin and Hobbes creator Bill Watterson and Cul de Sac creator Richard Thompson, and I don't think I have ever wanted to go see an art exhibit more. Curators Jenny Robb and Caitlin McGurk have assembled an incredible collection of original art from Calvin a
‘Jem And The Holograms’ Creator Christy Marx Shut Out Of Live Action Movie
When the news broke about the announcement of a Jem and the Holograms movie, ComicsAlliance promised to stay on top of the story, and today, just in case the very idea of a Hollywood adaptation of Jem having its roles crowdsourced via Tumblr wasn't weird enough, we have now reached the second wrinkle of the story: Christy Marx, the original creator of Jem and the Holograms, won't be involved in th
Boom! Studios Unveils Its Emerald City Comicon 2014 Exclusives
Seattle's Emerald City Comic Con 2014 is just around the corner, and while I've been trying to figure out if I can make it to the very first Starbucks to complete my tour of original chain restaurant locations (I went to the first KFC back in 2005, there is a museum attached), the folks at Boom! Studios have been busy with a new set of variant covers! They'll be offering a handful of Emerald City
