The follow-up to the surprise hit of the same title, Dead Island: Riptide is now on shelves and ready for you to play with your buddies. Some of you are like me -- you’d heard of the zombie RPG original but missed it in the flood of constant video game releases. So, with fresh and untarnished eyes, here’s my look at Dead Island: Riptide.
If rumors and speculation are to be believed, the next Xbox and the PlayStation 4 will not be backwards compatible with downloadable games. That means any games bought on the Xbox 360 (XBLA or Games on Demand), will be stuck on our old consoles gathering dust. If that’s the case, then I will never buy a downloadable game from Microsoft ever again (and most likely Sony, too). In my eyes, these companies are violating an unwritten agreement with consumers that the games we buy should still work years into the future.
11 years in development, Aliens: Colonial Marines is finally available on your console. Wonder what took so damn long! Borderlands’ developers, Gearbox Software, started working on the title back in 2006 even though there had been a game with the same title started in 2001. To call this game somewhat jinxed might be an understatement. Fortunately, the long gestation period hasn't completely destroyed the game’s quality.
