Monday night, more of the northern hemisphere was able to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights. Youtuber Earl Brechlin took to the top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park to catch the rare sight.

A powerful geomagnetic storm that erupted from the sun caused the rainbow of colors to extend further south than usual. The lights extended as far south as Virginia and Kansas.

Another burst of energy from the sun will create similar conditions for viewing Northern Lights tonight.
