Bangor Police responded Wednesday to a report of an armed robbery. The suspect had stolen cash from the victim and took his sneakers, leaving his own boots behind.

The incident was reported just before 12:30 on Wednesday afternoon in the area of Somerset and Center Streets. Sergeant Tim Cotton said the male suspect held a knife to the throat of a male victim, demanding the man's money, necklace, and sneakers. The victim refused to give up the necklace, for sentimental reasons, but the suspect did get away with the cash and footwear. The suspect left behind the boots he had been wearing.

An investigation led police to arrest Jamie Brown, age 35 of Bangor, and charge him with Class A Robbery. The weapon and victim's sneakers were recovered. Brown is currently being held at Penobscot County Jail.
