They’re not called face-huggers for nothin’. That’s a lesson Demian Bichir learns the hard way in the latest clip from Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant, which introduces a whole new unlucky crew of space-travelers who swiftly become a bloody buffet for the iconic xenomorphs and their various mutations. Judging by all the clips and trailers we’ve seen so far, it doesn’t look like most of these people are making it off that planet alive, but it wouldn’t be an Alien movie if almost everyone wasn’t gruesomely murdered by a xenomorph.

In the new clip from Alien: Covenant — hilariously titled “My Face” — Demian Bichir’s Lope receives a rather, um, warm greeting from a face-hugger. Even if you have only a passing familiarity with the Alien franchise, you know there’s nothing cute or friendly about those things, despite what the name implies.

20th Century Fox hasn’t been shy about hiding character deaths in their promotional materials, seemingly embracing it as part of a grand Alien tradition: Everyone (except maybe Katherine Waterston and a droid or two) will probably die.

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

Alien: Covenant also stars Danny McBride, Amy Seimetz, Billy Crudup and Jussie Smollett, and hits theaters on May 19.
